This week, I focused on creating a throne for Poseidon to place inside our main building. I started with a base model inside of Maya. I provided this base model to the rest of my group mates so our thrones were the same. I then stylized it specifically for Poseidon.

For the coral on top of the throne, I created a plane and quad-drawed the design freehand. I extruded it and UV'ed it. I created the pillow from a cube and making it look plush using the Bulge sculpting tool. I also UV'ed the pillow. I brought it into Zbrush and sculpted on the designs on the base. I used a mixture of the Standard, Dam Standard, and Smooth brush to create the design. The designs on the top are waves to represent the ocean. The mesh in front the the chair, I used the clay build up brush to carve it in. Those are supposed to represent kelp. The Pegasus on the sides of the chair, I free handed and used the same mixture of brushes I mentioned before.
I ZeRemeshed the subtools separately and UV unwrapped them. I then projected the high poly detail onto the lower poly meshes that have UVs. I then decimated them differently to get from a poly count of 56 million to 250 thousand for the entire model.
I brought the decimated mesh that had UV's into Maya and added the coral top and pillow that were not sculpted on. I put all the UV's onto one set using the layout tool and added a single material.
I added simple materials since I did not have a lot of time to texture this. The 2nd texture of Gold is for the more peachy color. I draw on some of the gold with a paint brush to add detail.

Due to how low poly I needed to make the mesh, some of it got messed up. The UV's were also not great because I used ZBrush to do them since I didn't have time to UV them myself. I don't think these mistakes will be noticeable with how far away our camera will be. If I were to go back, I would try to implement more of the detail I sculpted in. Overall, I liked how it turned out.
