This week I worked on finalizing my building for the goddess Demeter. I refined the block-out I had for her building and added details and made columns. I also UV'd the columns, the floor, and the wheat designs for the top of the building. Here is my reference sheet to get a better understanding of my idea for this building.
For the column, I got the idea from Jay to use helix. I flattened the helix and used it make a curve and then created a sweep mesh using the curved. I deleted the bottom have and bridged it to a cylinder to create the top half of the cylinder. The rest of the columns was mostly made by using extrusions and tweaking the vertex to create the shapes I wanted. I threw it into Marmoset Toolbag and added basic textures to make sure it rendered properly.

I did not spend too much time UV'ing the small details since the camera in our scene will be pretty far away from them. I refined the base of the building, added holding edges loops and fixed N-gons and have started UV'ing it.
The wheat design I grabbed from istockphoto.com made by diane555. I used a free image plane and the quad-draw tool to create the design, added holding edges, and extruded it. Then I UV'ed it and placed it where I wanted on the building.
So far, this is how the building looks together. I am pretty close to finishing this building and will be finishing my building for Artemis at the same time because half of her building is used in this building.
